The picture above is of Heater's Pond in Ogdensburg. It's a very special place available only to residents of the town. It reminds me of lakes in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. What a perfect place to swim or just sit and enjoy the view!
Ogdensburg was a zinc mining town and the home of Thomas Edison for some time. (There's a monument to him just a little farther up the mountain from Heater's Pond.) The town loves its elementary school which houses grades K through 8. It is well located for commuting, either via Rt. 15 to Rt. 80 or via Rt. 23.
It's now winter, and there are 21 homes on the market in Ogdensburg. The least expensive of these is an 1892 colonial on a main road. It has three bedrooms, one bath, and is being sold "as is." The price is $179,900. In the middle is a three bedroom, one bath colonial of unknown age. It was completely remodeled in 2002 according to the listing and is priced at $289,900. The most expensive home currently is $365,000 and is in attorney review as I write. It is a 1974 bi-level and has three bedrooms, two baths.
