Stillwater Real Estate
 Stillwater retains its rural nature and covers over 27 square miles. It encompasses most of Paulinskill Lake, a private lake, and all of Swartswood Lake, a state lake known for its great trout fishing.
 As a matter of fact, fishermen love Stillwater for its largemouth bass, pickerel, several varieties of trout, catfish, sunfish, and perch.
 Fisherman gather in April for the beginning of trout season in the Paulinskill River shown above, but on a hot day this past summer, it was perfect for a herd of cows hoping to cool off. (I drove over the bridge at the very beginning of summer this year and saw just one smart cow cooling off in the river. The rest of the herd was on the bank, probably thinking about making it a party.)
 Downtown Stillwater is a charming combination of antique shops, a country inn (now reopened as a pub,) old homes, and a general store (with the post office inside) which dates from 1871. A recent article in the local newspaper stated that the Stillwater Historic District which encompasses approximately eight square miles will, potentially, be the largest rural historic district in the state. A historic preservationist recently praised the residents of Stillwater for preserving their history so well. Many houses dating back to the 18th and early 19th centuries are still being lived in.
People in Stillwater love their elementary school (just click on the blue link below) and send their students to Kittatinny High School, a national Blue Ribbon school.
